The Importance of Dental Health

Preventive care is becoming increasingly important in small animal medicine. Regular dental care can help prevent or minimise damage to your pet’s teeth. Dental problems are not only extremely painful but are often linked to various diseases affecting the entire body. Cats, in particular, may not show clear signs of tooth pain, making regular check-ups with the vet essential.

Treatment Under General Anesthesia

Dental treatment must always be performed under general anesthesia to prevent fluids or foreign material from entering the lungs. Additionally, a precise examination and thorough treatment of your pet’s teeth is only possible when they are deeply relaxed. Anesthesia ensures the safety of both the veterinary team and the patient.

Why Dental X-rays?

A clinical examination of the oral cavity can reveal signs of dental disease, but only around 20% of dental problems are visible externally. Issues with the roots and periodontal tissues are only detectable through dental x-rays. These hidden problems can cause significant pain for your pet without being noticed.
